      Although Raphael B. Johnson did not come from a “well-to-do” family, he wasn’t poverty stricken either. His mother worked everyday to provide a foundation of success for him and his siblings. He got good grades in school, was reared in a disciplinary home, had clothes on his back and food in his belly.
